Ongoing Care, Security, and Peace of Mind for Your Website
We created our Website Maintenance Services to give you confidence that your website is secure, maintained, and running smoothly—without you needing to think about it. This includes proactive protection, timely software updates, reliable backups, and hands-on tech support if anything goes wrong.
Website Maintenance is required if you are Hosting with GravityStack.
What’s Included
Website Security: We lock your site down using best-in-class tools and processes to help keep hackers out. Our system:
- Hardens your WordPress installation
- Monitors for suspicious activity
- Uses premium security software to guard your site around the clock
While no system can promise to stop every attack, we make your site a much harder target—and if something ever slips through, we’ll fix it (see below).
Daily Backups: Every night, your site is backed up automatically by our server and stored on a separate, secure backup system. These backups are retained according to our internal retention policy and are included in your hosting fee. While backups are a safety net, we can’t guarantee their completeness—but we treat them seriously.
Monthly Cloud Backups: In addition to nightly server backups, we perform a separate monthly backup, which is stored in our Canadian-based cloud data vault. We typically retain the two most recent versions.
Software Updates: We regularly update your WordPress software, theme, and plugins—usually daily, always at least weekly. We also monitor industry alerts for security issues and fast-track updates when needed. If a particular update appears unstable, we may delay it briefly to ensure site safety.
This ongoing care reduces your risk of downtime or vulnerabilities. If your site ever is hacked, we will restore it to its most recent clean version or clean the malware at no extra cost to you. Our responsibility in such cases is limited to restoring your site to its closest pre-hack condition.
Backups & Restoration
If your site is compromised or stops working:
- We will restore a backup at no additional cost if the issue was caused by a hack.
- If the issue is due to user error (accidental deletions, plugin installs, etc.), we can restore your site at our current hourly rate (minimum 1 hour).
There’s no limit to the number of restorations we’ll perform if the cause is a verified security issue.
Premium Themes & Plugins
Many WordPress websites use premium themes or plugins that require annual license renewals. We handle the licensing for many of these—but not all.
Here’s how it works:
- If we hold a valid license for a plugin or theme on your site, that license is covered under your Website Maintenance subscription.
- If our overall usage of a plugin drops (e.g., fewer clients use it), we may no longer cover it. If that happens, we’ll give you notice and options—either take over the license directly or work with us to find an alternative.
- If your site uses premium tools we don’t license, we’ll let you know, and you’ll be responsible for keeping them current.
Please note: While we use only reputable plugins, we can’t be liable for issues—like hacks, bugs, or compatibility problems—that stem from plugin behaviour.
Plugin Conflicts
Occasionally, a plugin update may conflict with your site’s theme or another plugin. If that happens:
- We’ll consult with you and suggest next steps.
- We may remove the problem plugin and recommend an alternative.
- If resolution takes more than 3 hours, additional time will be billed at our current hourly rate.
It’s your responsibility to notify us if something on your site isn’t working correctly.
If You’re Not on Our Plan (on Other Hosting)
If you choose not to subscribe to Website Maintenance Services:
- You’re fully responsible for all site maintenance, backups, security, and updates.
- We’re happy to help if issues arise, but all work will be billed hourly.
Payments & Cancellation
- Payment for services is due at the start of each billing period—monthly, quarterly, or annually, as agreed.
- You may cancel with 30 days’ written notice.
- We do not offer refunds for Website Maintenance Services.
If You Cancel or Move Your Website
If you cancel services or move your site to a new web host, we can assist in one of the following ways:
- Free Option: We’ll give you an admin login so your new provider can perform the migration.
- Backup Option: We’ll provide a downloadable industry-standard WordPress backup for $150.
- Full-Service Option: We’ll handle the migration ourselves at our current hourly rate.
After cancellation, full responsibility for backups, updates, and licensing returns to you.

This service exists to give you peace of mind, not another thing to manage. We take care of the technical side, so you can stay focused on running your business and serving your clients.
