Website Hosting
Clear Expectations. No Surprises.
We’ve designed our hosting environment to be secure, efficient, and optimized for how we build and manage websites and is supported by our Website Management Service.
First off, let’s be clear…Our Clients are free to host their websites wherever they want. That’s part of our 100% Walk-away Control promise. Unlike some, we do not insist or strong-arm our Clients into which web hosting provider to use.
But we know that, for business owners who are serious about their online marketing, the choice of web host is critically important to that success:
Why We Recommend Boutique Hosting With GravityStack
- Security. We have multiple firewall layers to let the good traffic in and keep the bad traffic out.
- Nightly server back-up of the entire server with multiple roll-back points PLUS secondary off-site back-ups of your WordPress site on a scheduled basis.
- Optimized for WordPress. WordPress has its own quirks—especially around security and database performance—that we regularly optimize our server for.
- Faster. A website’s loading speed is a critical ranking factor with the Search Engines. The two factors that determine a site’s load speed are: (1) how it’s been coded and (2) the server it’s being hosted on. We’ve built our server to have way more processing power and bandwidth speed than the sites we host need.
- Professionally monitored 24/7. Our dedicated server is monitored, under contract, 24/7. If there are any issues, our amazing server admins are on it.
- Less expensive to develop on. When we work on a slow host or a host that dogs us with problems, it takes us longer—often hours longer—and that translates into a higher bill. We’ve dealt with so many “bad” hosts, that we even charge more for our maintenance plans when a Client isn’t on our hosting just because of the extra hassles.
- Canadian based.
- FREE SSL Certificate from Let’s Encrypt.
- FREE switch of your website from your old host to us. We’ll look after all the details of getting your site moved over.
- We control the environment, which keeps projects on time and on budget
Using another server usually means a shift in our process and may cause delays. To cover that added complexity, we typically include a surcharge in your proposal if we are not hosting your website. If you choose not to host with us, please note: We can’t guarantee the speed, uptime, performance, or security of your website, and any delays or fixes related to third-party hosting will be billed at our standard hourly rate.
Video Hosting
High-Performance Video Hosting Included
Every GravityStack hosting plan includes professional-grade video hosting through Bunny.net—designed for fast, secure, ad-free playback that reflects well on your brand.
What’s included:
- 10 GB of total video storage
- Delivered using Bunny.net’s fast, secure, ad-free video platform
- Includes a custom video domain (e.g.
videos.yourdomain.com)
This is ideal for testimonials, homepage intros, or service explainers—without ads, slowdowns, or YouTube distractions.
Our hosting plans are built on fair usage. If your video library grows beyond the included tier, we’ll recommend an upgrade that fits your needs.
If you need more storage or bandwidth, we offer affordable upgrade packages.
Uptime and Service Availability
We aim to keep your site available 99.9% of the time in any given month. If downtime exceeds this threshold:
- You may request a service credit, calculated based on how long your site was unavailable
- To qualify, the outage must last longer than 60 continuous seconds and must not be related to external outages (like your ISP or hosting-wide outages)
- Planned maintenance does not count as downtime. We announce this at least 2 days in advance and perform it during off-hours
To request a service credit, contact us within 7 days of the downtime.
Your Responsibilities
To keep everything running smoothly when moving to GravityStack Hosting, we’ll need your cooperation. You’re responsible for:
- Providing the information and access we need to set up and manage your hosting (if you’re moving from another host)
- Coordinating with any third parties involved (e.g., your IT provider or domain registrar)
- Ensuring that only your business uses the hosting (no reselling or third-party use)
Acceptable Use Policy
To keep our systems secure and reliable, you agree not to use your website or our services to:
- Host illegal, offensive, pornographic, lewd or infringing content
- Distribute spam or malware
- Breach any laws or third-party contracts
We reserve the right to suspend or remove content or services while we investigate any suspected violations.
If your site uses more server resources than your hosting package allows, we’ll work with you to resolve it. If the issue continues and we can’t find a workable solution within 30 days, it may be considered a breach of this agreement.
When Hosting Ends
Hosting services will end when:
- You cancel
- Your payment fails
- Our engagement expires (unless we’ve agreed to extend hosting)
We do not offer refunds for Website Hosting.
What Happens to Connected Services
If we manage or integrate additional services as part of your hosting, access to those services will also end. These may include:
- Email delivery tools (like smtp2go)
- Scheduled tasks (like WP Cron jobs triggered by our EasyCron system)
- DNS settings
- DMARC records
- Automation systems
- Video Hosting service
- Any third-party integrations tied to your hosting
If you need help transitioning these services, we may be able to assist—billed at our hourly rate and subject to availability.
Data Retention and Backups
After your hosting ends, we’ll keep your website data (files and database) for at least 30 days. During this time, you may:
- Request a backup of your full site for a one-time fee of $150
- Ask us to migrate your site to another host, billed hourly
- Request access credentials or configuration info to share with another provider
After 30 days, your data may be permanently deleted from our systems. Please ensure all transitions are complete by then.
DNS and Domain Settings
If we manage your DNS as part of hosting:
- You’ll need to take over DNS management after cancellation
- If we were managing DNS via Cloudflare, you’ll need to set up your own account or migrate to another DNS provider
You are always the owner of your domain name. We are not responsible for any downtime caused by DNS changes after our services end.
A Note About Integrated Tools
Some features—like email notifications or lead capture forms—may rely on software or configurations tied to our hosting. If those are disconnected, you’ll need to replace or reconfigure them to restore full functionality.
We’re happy to help you find new solutions, but any work involved will be billed at our current hourly rate.
Final Word
Our hosting is built to support fast, secure, and worry-free websites. We’re transparent about what’s included and what changes if you go elsewhere—so you can make informed decisions that support your business.
Have questions? Just ask. We’re here to help you make the best choice for your needs.
